Lunch Talk on Careers in Nonprofits – Program on Philanthropy & Nonprofits

The UCLA Law Program on Philanthropy & Nonprofits invites you to join us for our first Lunch Talk on Careers in Nonprofits on Wednesday, September 6, from 12:15PM – 1:30PM, in Law Room 1430.

In this first presentation of a series on Nonprofit Careers, we feature four JDs, including two UCLA Law alumni, who work as counsel or oversee legal affairs for foundations.  Moderator Rose Chan Loui, Director of the Program on Philanthropy & Nonprofits, will discuss with the panelists what they do at their respective foundations, what motivates them in their roles, and how their careers in nonprofits evolved.  Our panelists will include:

  • Arun Baheti, VP, Operations, California Wellness Foundation
  • Lynell Davis, Associate General Counsel, The California Endowment
  • Joanna Kong, Chief Executive Officer, former General Counsel, Sun Family Foundation
  • Carol Bradford Worley, General Counsel & Charitable Advisor, California Community Foundation

UCLA Law Symposium on the Restatement of the Law, Charitable Nonprofit Organizations

This event is by special invitation only.

The Symposium is the inaugural event sponsored by the new Program on Philanthropy and Nonprofits at the Lowell Milken Institute for Business Law and Policy, UCLA School of Law and the American Law Institute. The Symposium will convene various thought leaders with different perspectives–including scholars, judges, practitioners both at firms and nonprofits, and regulators—to discuss various subjects addressed in the Restatement.
